Betty Schrampfer Azar is a famous author who wrote a series of books called the Azar Grammar Series. These books help students around the world learn English as a second or foreign language. Her books have been very popular for over 30 years in English language teaching.

About the Azar Grammar Series
The Azar Grammar Series is now in its fifth edition. In 2006, another author named Stacy A. Hagen joined Betty Azar. Because of this, the series is now known as the Azar-Hagen Grammar Series.

Honoring Betty Azar
In 2017, a group called the TESOL International Association created a special award in her honor. It's called the Betty Azar Travel Grant for Practicing ESL/EFL Teachers. This grant helps teachers pay for their trip to the yearly TESOL conference.

After Betty S. Azar retired, her website, www.azargrammar.com, closed down. It officially shut down on November 10, 2020. Some parts of the website still work today.
