Beverly Crawford is a famous American gospel singer. She was born Beverly Renae Camps on August 31, 1963. Many people know her from singing with the New Life Singers on the TV show Bobby Jones Gospel. This show was on Black Entertainment Television (BET). She is also known for her popular songs like "Praise Jehovah" and "He's Done Enough." Her song "It's About Time For A Miracle" is also very well-known.

Early Life and Music Beginnings

Beverly Crawford was born in Gainesville, Florida, on August 31, 1963. She was the sixth of seven children. Her parents were Bishop Walter Camps and Nellie Camps. Beverly started singing when she was only three years old. She sang with her sisters in a group called the Camp Sisters. Her siblings are Walter Jr., Alfred, Marilyn, Belinda, Terrilyn, and Evelyn.

Beverly Crawford's Singing Career

In the late 1980s, Beverly's husband, Todd Crawford, made a video of her and her sisters singing. He sent it to different gospel music companies. Only Bobby Jones Gospel replied. Bobby Jones was very impressed with the sisters. He invited them to sing on his TV show. After a few visits, he asked Beverly to join his group, New Life.

Joining the New Life Singers

The New Life Singers were a group of talented women. Emily Harris, Angela Primm, Nuana Dunlap, and Franchine Smith were part of the group. Later, Roberta Higgs also joined. Beverly sang with Dr. Jones and the New Life Singers until 1997. She was a favorite singer on the show from 1990 to 1997.

Starting a Solo Career

Beverly Crawford began her solo singing career in 1995. Her first album was called Jesus, Precious King. It was released by Warner Alliance Records. Three years later, in 1998, she released Now That I'm Here. This album included popular songs like the title track and "Just As Soon (I'll Be Shouting)." Now That I'm Here was even nominated for a Grammy Award in 1999.

In 2001, Beverly released another album called Beverly. Most of the songs on this album were recorded in a studio. Then, in 2003, she returned to singing live in a church setting. She released Live Family and Friends. This album featured songs like "Higher in the Lord" and "Hold On." Other famous singers, like Bobby Jones and Shirley Murdock, also appeared on the album. Her daughter, Latrina Crawford, also sang on it.

Recent Albums and Awards

In 2007, Beverly released her fifth album, Live from Los Angeles. This album had a number one hit song called "He's Done Enough." This song stayed on the top ten music lists for over a year.

In January 2009, Beverly Crawford won her first Stellar Gospel Music Award. She won "Traditional Female Vocalist of the Year" for her 2007 album.

On September 19, 2009, she recorded her next album live in Los Angeles. It was called Live from Los Angeles - Volume 2. This album also featured guests like Shirley Murdock. It was released on September 14, 2010. It included the hit song "It's About Time for a Miracle." In 2012, she won her second Stellar Gospel Music Award for this record. Personal Life

Beverly married Todd Eugene Crawford in November 1982. They have two children: a daughter named Latrina, born in 1983, and a son named Todd Jr., born in 1995. Beverly and Todd are also co-pastors at her father's church. It is called The Landmark Holy Temple of God, Inc. Her father, Bishop Walter Camps, passed away in December 2007 after a long illness.
