The Beverly Road Historic District is a special neighborhood in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan. It includes fifteen beautiful homes located on Beverly Road. This area was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995 because of its important history and unique buildings.

A Look Back: How it Started
The Beverly Road Historic District began in 1911. A person named Henry B. Joy planned out this area, which was called the Beverly Park Subdivision.
From Farms to Fancy Homes
At first, the Grosse Pointe area was mostly farmland and places where people had summer homes. But the Beverly Road district helped change that. It became one of the first fancy neighborhoods in the Grosse Pointes. This meant people started living there all year round, not just for vacations.
Who Lived Here?
Many important people chose to live on Beverly Road. These included leaders of big companies, successful business owners, and lawyers. Some famous residents were William P. Hamilton, William Cornelius Crowley, and Sidney T. Miller. Even today, Beverly Road is one of the few private streets in Grosse Pointe Farms. This means it's owned and maintained by the residents, not the city.
What the District Looks Like
The homes in the Beverly Road Historic District are found on both sides of Beverly Road. They stretch from Lakeshore Drive to Grosse Pointe Boulevard.
Grand Homes and Great Design
These houses are mostly very large and impressive. They show off excellent craftsmanship and design. Many of them were built in styles popular in the late 1800s and early 1900s, often called "Revival" styles. This means they look like older types of architecture, but with modern touches from their time.
