Biba Caggiano was born in Bologna, Italy, on October 18, 1936. She learned to cook from her mother. Her mother owned a small Italian restaurant called a trattoria in Bologna. Biba grew up cooking traditional foods from her home region, Emilia-Romagna.

In 1960, Biba moved to New York City with her husband, Vincent. Later, in 1969, her family moved to Sacramento, California. At that time, Sacramento did not have many famous Italian restaurants.

In 1986, Biba opened her own restaurant called Biba. It quickly became one of the most famous Italian restaurants in California. Both Biba Caggiano and her restaurant won many important awards for their amazing food.

Biba's TV Show

Biba Caggiano also had her own cooking show. It was called Biba's Italian Kitchen. The show was very popular and aired on TV channels like TLC and Discovery Channel. She filmed over 100 episodes, teaching people how to cook Italian dishes.

Biba Caggiano passed away on August 29, 2019, at the age of 82.
