What's the Story About?
The show is about the Spiller family. There's Simon and Kate, and their parents, Sarah and Geoff. Sarah teaches piano, and Geoff is a doctor.
One day, the family goes to a school charity event. A hypnotist, called Ming the Mind Master, performs there. He uses Dr. and Mrs. Spiller in his act. After the show, Kate and Simon realize something strange. Their parents were not fully un-hypnotized!
At random times, their parents "black out." Then they start acting like little children. Kate and Simon have to deal with this big secret. They try to keep their parents' silly behavior under control. They also try to make their parents believe what happens. Plus, they need to figure out what makes their parents change.
Often, the kids become the adults. Sarah and Geoff do things they would usually scold their children for. Kate and Simon have to act very grown-up.
Eventually, the kids film their parents. This helps them show their parents what happens. They also find out the trigger! Any word with "ming" in it makes their parents act like kids. This is just like the hypnotist's name.
Finally, they find Ming the Mind Master. They convince him to un-hypnotize the Spiller parents. It seems like everything is back to normal. But then, their parents act childish on a carousel. This leaves Kate and Simon wondering. Are their parents still hypnotized? Or are they just choosing to act silly? The show leaves you guessing!
