TaJuan Akeem Perry (born August 15, 1975), known as Big Noyd, is an American rapper. He is a close friend and music partner of the hip hop group Mobb Deep. You can hear him on almost all of their albums.
Big Noyd's Music Journey
Big Noyd first appeared on a song called "Stomp 'Em Out" in 1993. This was on Mobb Deep's first album, Juvenile Hell. But he really became known in 1995. This was when he was on Mobb Deep's album The Infamous. He was featured on songs like "Right Back At You" and "Give Up the Goods (Just Step)". He later shared that he got a big music contract because of his part in "Give Up The Goods (Just Step)".
His first album, Episodes Of A Hustla, came out in 1996. He was not able to promote it much at the time. Later, in 2003, Big Noyd released his second album, Only The Strong. This album also featured many artists connected to Mobb Deep. He felt the album did not sell as well as it could have. This was because the record company had some business problems.
In 2004, Big Noyd released his third album, On the Grind. This album also had many guest artists from the Mobb Deep group. He released this album on his own record label, Monopolee Records. This gave him more control over his music. He also started his own company, Noyd Inc., in 2007.
Big Noyd got his rap name from a friend. His friend thought he looked like 'The Noid'. This was a cartoon character from Domino's Pizza.
