Bill Morey (born December 19, 1919 – died December 10, 2003) was an American actor. He was known for playing many different characters in movies and TV shows. You might remember him best as Oscar from the 1990s TV show, The John Larroquette Show.

Early Years and Military Service

Bill Morey was born in a town called Framingham, Massachusetts, on December 19, 1919. When he was older, he served in the military during World War II. This was a very important time in history.

Starting His Acting Career

Bill Morey began acting in the 1940s. He performed on stage in plays and also on the radio. In the 1950s and early 1960s, he moved to Traverse City, Michigan. There, he acted in many plays at the Cherry County Playhouse.

He also directed and acted in shows at the Civic Theater. This theater is now known as the Old Town Playhouse. While living in Traverse City, Bill also worked in local radio and television.

Moving to Hollywood

In 1970, Bill Morey won a special award called the Joseph Jefferson Award. He won it for being the Best Supporting Actor in a play called Janus. This play was performed in Chicago.

A film director named Michael Ritchie saw him act there. Ritchie was impressed and cast Bill in his first movie role. This movie was called Prime Cut and came out in 1972.

After that, Bill Morey moved to Los Angeles in 1974. He continued to act in many movies and TV shows. He kept working until he retired in 2001.

Family and Later Life

Bill Morey was married to a woman named Chris. They met when they both worked at a TV station called WWJ in Detroit. Bill and Chris had three children: two sons named Christopher and Michael, and a daughter named Dianne.

Bill Morey passed away on December 10, 2003. He was 83 years old and died from natural causes in a hospital in Santa Monica, California.
