Ramel Leroy Gill (born October 18, 1973), known as Black Child, is an American rapper and actor from New York City. He is famous for working with Irv Gotti's Murder Inc. Records. He was also connected with artists like Ashanti and Ja Rule. Black Child appeared on popular songs with Ja Rule and other members of Murder Inc.

The Early Life of Black Child
Ramel Gill was born in Brooklyn, New York. His family moved to Queens when he was young. When he was about 11, a family friend helped him write rap verses. As he grew up, he started writing his own rhymes. He was motivated by his family and friends.
Starting a Music Career
In 1993, Black Child signed with Jam Master Jay Records. This label was owned by the famous DJ Jam Master Jay. Before this, he was already making music with other new artists. One of these artists was Irv Gotti, who was known as DJ Irv back then. Irv Gotti produced a song for Jay-Z. Black Child also worked with Ja Rule on early songs.
Joining Murder Inc. Records
Black Child kept working on his rapping skills. He showed his talent in freestyle battles. After some time, he connected with Ja Rule. Ja Rule was impressed by his lyrics. Ja Rule then introduced Black Child to Irv Gotti. Both Ja Rule and Irv Gotti were very impressed. This led to Black Child signing with Murder Inc Records.
Black Child first became widely known on Ja Rule's first album, Venni Vetti Vecci, in 1999. He was featured on songs like The Murderers and We Here Now. He also appeared in the music video for the song Murda 4 Life.
