Malik Flint, known professionally as Black Party (which he writes as "bLAck pARty"), is an American singer, songwriter, and music producer. He was born in 1992. He grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas. His family moved there in 2008 because his parents were in the military. Today, he lives in Los Angeles.

Early Music Days

Black Party started playing music when he was young. He played the trumpet in middle school bands. By high school, he taught himself to play guitar, keyboards, and bass. He also learned how to record music. He used to be a DJ and performed in hip-hop groups.

In 2011, when he was still in high school, Malik started a rap-rock band. It was called Flint Eastwood. He was the lead singer and rapper. The band's name was a fun play on his last name, Flint.

The band released a six-song album called Hometown Glory in 2012. Later that year, they released another album named Flint Eastwood. They even opened shows for famous artists like MGK and Big K.R.I.T..

Becoming Black Party

After the band Flint Eastwood broke up, Malik Flint chose a new name: Black Party. He writes it as "bLAck pARty" to highlight "LA" for Los Angeles and "AR" for Arkansas. Los Angeles is where he lives now, and Arkansas is where he grew up.

In 2013, he started producing music for another artist named Kari Faux. They had known each other since they were teenagers. Their song "No Small Talk" became very popular. It even caught the attention of Childish Gambino (who is also known as Donald Glover). Childish Gambino remixed the song and put it on his own album.

Moving to Los Angeles

In 2014, Black Party released his own album called Prototype. After that, he moved to Los Angeles. There, Childish Gambino signed him to his music group, Royalty.

Black Party helped produce music for Childish Gambino's album "Awaken, My Love!". This album even won a Grammy Award! Black Party also worked on music for TV shows. These included Dear White People, Insecure, and Atlanta. He also helped produce Kari Faux's 2016 album, Lost en Los Angeles.

Recent Albums

In November 2016, Black Party released a nine-song album called Mango. He described the music on this album as "tropical funk."

His 2019 album, Endless Summer, was his first release with RCA Records. The first song from this album was "No Complaints." It came out in May 2019 and featured DMP Jefe. Also in 2019, he worked with singer Jacquie on her song "Grim."

On August 5, 2022, Black Party released his third album. It is called Hummingbird.
