Black River First Nation (sometimes called Little Black River First Nation) is a community of Ojibwe people. Their traditional name in the Ojibwe language is Makadewaagamijiwanong. This First Nation is located in Manitoba, Canada.

The community lives near the O'Hanley and Black Rivers. These rivers flow into the eastern side of Lake Winnipeg. The official land for the community is called Black River 5 Indian Reserve. This reserve covers about 8 square kilometers (or 2,000 acres). In 2011, about 521 people lived on the reserve.

Black River First Nation is about 32 kilometers (20 miles) north of Pine Falls. It is also around 150 kilometers (93 miles) north of Winnipeg, a major city in Manitoba. Even though it's geographically in Eastern Manitoba, it's managed as part of Northern Manitoba. You can reach the community by an all-weather road, which is part of PR 304.
