History of Black Wolf
Black Wolf once had its own post office, which is where people send and receive mail. This post office first opened in 1879. It closed for a short time in 1908 but quickly reopened a few months later. The post office continued to serve the community until it finally closed in 1953.
People say that the name "Black Wolf" came from a local Native American person. In the past, Black Wolf was also an important stop for trains on the Union Pacific Railroad. This made it a busy place for travel and moving goods.
