Blanca Santa Cruz y Ossa (born around 1886 – died 1969) was a Chilean writer and editor. She wrote and collected stories for kids and young adults, especially focusing on legends and myths from Chile and other countries around the world.

Blanca Santa Cruz Ossa was the daughter of Senator Joaquín Santa Cruz VargasSantiago, which was run by English nuns.
and Carmela Ossa y Ossa. She went to school at the School of the Sacred Heart inIn the 1930s, books for children became very popular in Chile. This was when Blanca Santa Cruz Ossa wrote many of her most famous works. She became one of the most important writers in this field.
Starting in 1929, she began putting together collections of myths and legends. These stories came from Chile and many other places around the world. She worked alongside other well-known authors of her time. These included Ernesto Montenegro, who wrote Cuentos de mi Tío Ventura in 1930. Also, Damita Duende wrote Doce cuentos de príncipes y reyes and Doce cuentos de hadas in 1938. Another famous writer was Marta Brunet, who published Cuentos para Marisol in 1938.
