Bloomfield was first planned and settled way back in 1853. Imagine people setting up a new community over 170 years ago!
For a while, Bloomfield even had its own post office. This post office was called the "Grass" post office. It helped people send and receive mail from 1878 until 1904. After 1904, the post office closed down.
