In 1974, a group of college students from different fraternities and sororities, known as the Pan-Hellenic Council, started a special event called the Philadelphia Greek Picnic. This picnic began right here in Blue Bell Park. It quickly grew into a huge annual gathering, attracting over 250,000 people at its peak! It became a major celebration for college students and alumni from across the country.
