How Blue Moon Got Its Name
The name "Blue Moon" has a fun story! In 1936, a post office was opened there by a local schoolteacher named Alex L. Meade.
His daughter, Alice, was the one who picked the name. She had received a bottle of Blue Moon perfume as a Christmas gift, and she liked the sound of it. So, the community got its unique name from a bottle of perfume! The post office stayed open for many years but eventually closed in 1957.
