Bluestone State Park is a fantastic state park located in Summers County, West Virginia. This park is huge, covering about 2,154 acres! It sits right along the western side of Bluestone Lake. This lake was created when a dam was built on the New River. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, a group that helps manage many of our country's waterways, looks after the lake. Both the park and the lake get their names from the Bluestone River, which flows into the New River right there at the park. Bluestone State Park was officially opened in 1950.
