About James Golden
James Golden went to City University of New York-Queens College from 1973 to 1976.
When he was in his early twenties, Golden worked at a radio station called WWRL. He was in charge of marketing and research. Later, he became the station's first director for music research.
From 1992 to 1998, Golden co-hosted a political call-in show called The James and Joel Show. He hosted it with Joel Santisteban on WABC radio in New York.
Golden was also part of the team that produced The Rush Limbaugh Show for television. This TV show was on air from 1992 to 1996.
From 1998 to 2001, Golden worked as a vice-president for programming at Talkspot.com. He also hosted two Internet radio shows there. Sometimes, he writes political comments online.
Even though Golden worked behind the scenes with Rush Limbaugh, he sometimes talked with Limbaugh during the show. He would use a special internal communication system. Sometimes, Golden even got to speak on the air.
In 2008, Limbaugh gave Golden a funny role on the show. Golden, using his Bo Snerdley name, became the show's "Official Criticizer of Barack Obama." Golden would jokingly introduce himself as an "African-American-in-good-standing-and-certified-black-enough-to-criticize-Obama guy." This role appeared now and then during Obama's time as president.
Golden is also a senior partner at a company called Golden Creative Communications, LLC.
After Rush Limbaugh passed away in 2021, Golden was still credited as the producer for the show's new hosts. He also helps with Limbaugh's ongoing newsletter. In May 2021, he started a podcast called Rush Limbaugh: The Man Behind the Golden EIB Microphone. You can find it on IHeart Radio.
On August 23, 2021, Golden, using his Bo Snerdley name, returned to WABC. He also returned to its sister station WLIR-FM. He now hosts an afternoon show from 4:00 to 5:00 PM and a Saturday show from 7:00 to 10:00 AM.
James Golden wrote a book called Rush On The Radio: A Tribute From His Sidekick of 30 Years. It was published in November 2021.
In an interview from 2021, Golden shared how he got his nickname "Bo Snerdley." He said it was inspired by the famous athlete Bo Jackson.
