Alberto "Bobby" Dapidran Pacquiao (born April 23, 1980) is a Filipino politician and a former professional boxer. He competed in boxing from 1997 to 2008. Bobby held important boxing titles, including the Philippine Games and Amusements Board (GAB) title and the World Boxing Council (WBC) Continental Americas title. He also won the World Boxing Organization (WBO) Asia-Pacific title.
After his boxing career, Bobby Pacquiao entered politics. He served as a councilor in his hometown, General Santos, from 2016 to 2019. Later, he was elected to the House of Representatives. He represented the OFW Family Club from 2019 to 2022. Since 2023, he has been the barangay captain of Labangal, General Santos. He is also an ex officio member of the city council. This means he is a member because of his role as president of the Liga ng mga Barangay (Association of Barangay Councils).
Bobby Pacquiao is the younger brother of the famous politician and former world boxing champion, Manny Pacquiao.

Bobby's Boxing Journey
Bobby Pacquiao started his professional boxing career in 1997. He quickly made a name for himself. He won the Philippines Games and Amusements Board super featherweight title. He successfully defended this title four times between 2002 and 2004.
In 2005, Bobby won the World Boxing Council (WBC) Continental Americas super-featherweight title. He achieved this by defeating Carlos Navarro in the seventh round. He also defended this title against former WBC featherweight champion Kevin Kelley in 2006.
His last fight was in 2008. He lost to Robert Frankel by a unanimous decision. After this fight, he decided to retire from boxing.

Playing Basketball
Bobby Pacquiao also played basketball. He was part of the MP Gensan Warriors team in the SMART-Liga Pilipinas Conference II. He scored points in his debut game. He also played for KIA Motors, a team coached by his brother Manny Pacquiao.
Later, he became the team manager for Manny Pacquiao's PBA D-League team, MP Hotel. He also played in other basketball leagues. In 2011, he and Manny played for the MP Warriors in the Manny Pacquiao Basketball Cup. His team, the MP Warriors, won a P300,000 prize in 2013. They also won the Kalilangan Festival Commercial basketball league in 2014.
Entering Politics
Bobby Pacquiao began his political career in 2013. He ran for a seat in the village council of Labangal in General Santos. His wife, Lorelei, was the chairperson of the village at the time. Bobby won the election and became a village councilor. He ran under the People's Champ Movement (PCM), a local political party started by his brother Manny.
In 2016, he ran for a position in the city council of General Santos. He finished second among many candidates. This made him one of the 12 councilors of the city.
Serving in Congress (2019–2022)
In 2019, Bobby Pacquiao was chosen to represent the OFW Family Club. This group aims to represent overseas Filipino workers in the House of Representatives. Even though the group did not get enough votes for an automatic seat, they still secured a spot. This allowed Bobby to become a member of the House of Representatives.
During his time in Congress, Bobby was involved in several important committees. He was a Vice Chairperson for committees dealing with Mindanao affairs, overseas workers, and youth and sports development. He also served on committees for foreign affairs, games and amusements, health, and national defense.
He tried to get re-elected in 2022, but the OFW Family Club did not receive enough votes.
Back to Local Politics
In 2023, Bobby Pacquiao ran for barangay chairman of Labangal. This was the same role his wife held before she became mayor of General Santos. Bobby won by a large margin. He received 17,873 votes, while his opponent received only 1,241 votes.
After winning, he also became an ex officio member of the city council again. This happened because he was elected president of the city's Liga ng mga Barangay (Association of Barangay Councils).
