Bogangar is a small town in the Tweed Shire area of north-eastern New South Wales, Australia. It is located near the coast and includes beautiful spots like Cudgen Lake and Norries Headland. Part of Bogangar is also known as Cabarita Beach. Many people who live there use both names for the area.

According to the 2016 Census, about 3,060 people lived in Bogangar. The name Bogangar comes from the Bandjalang-Yugambeh language. The word `bobingah` means "a highland."

What Does "Bogangar" Mean?

The name Bogangar comes from the Aboriginal language. It means "a place of many pippies." Pippies are small shellfish that used to be found along the beaches in the area.

When Was Bogangar Public School Opened?

Bogangar Public School first opened its doors on 16 February 2004. This school helps educate the children living in the town and nearby areas.
