The Phidippus audax is a type of jumping spider found in North America. People often call it the daring jumping spider or bold jumping spider because of its quick movements. This spider is usually black with bright white spots on its back, called the abdomen.
When these spiders are young, their spots might be orange, red, or yellow. As they grow older, these colorful spots change to white. Adult daring jumping spiders are usually between 13 and 20 millimeters long. That's about half an inch to three-quarters of an inch! Male spiders are a little smaller than females.
