History of Bonanza Port
Long ago, this port was known by a different name: the port of Barrameda. Sometimes, people even called it the port of Zanfanejos.
However, around the middle of the 1500s, its name changed. It became known as the "port of Bonanza." This new name came from a small, nearby church built in 1503. This church was dedicated to "Nuestra Señora de la Bonanza," which means "Our Lady of Good Fortune." So, the port got its name from this special place of good luck!
