Growing Up and Family Life
Bontle Jade-Lee Modiselle was born on October 7, 1990. Her parents are Percy and Grace Modiselle. She was born in Soweto, Johannesburg, and mostly grew up in the north-eastern part of Johannesburg. Bontle is from the Tswana ethnic group.
She has two sisters, Refilwe Modiselle and Candice Modiselle. Both of her sisters also work in the entertainment industry. Bontle studied at the University of Johannesburg. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Corporate Communications.
Starting a Career in Dance
Bontle began her dancing journey in 2007. She took many dance classes and attended different dance activities. She first appeared in the entertainment world as a model in music videos and as a dancer.
Bontle has appeared in music videos for famous artists. These include DJ Tira, Rouge, and Major League DJz. Her dancing skills helped her get into acting.
Acting in Movies and TV Shows
Bontle made her first movie appearance in the dance-drama film Hear Me Move in 2014. She played the character "Khanyi." After that, she starred in the first season of the SABC 3 drama series Thula's Vine, where she played "Lindi." She also acted in the Mzansi Magic short film Lokshin FM, playing "Meme."
On February 6, 2016, Bontle started hosting the SABC 2 reality show Showville. She co-hosted it with actor Rob van Vuuren. The next month, she presented an award at the 2016 South African Film and Television Awards with her sisters.

Before focusing on dancing, Bontle also worked as a choreographer. She choreographed many events and shows. She was the main choreographer for the African version of the MTV musical show Lip Sync Battle, which started in 2016.
Bontle was also one of the choreographers at the MTV Africa Music Awards 2016. In June 2019, she was the head choreographer for the Castle Lite Unlocks event. In March 2018, Bontle was announced as a new face for Revlon South Africa. She joined actress Michelle Mosalakae and TV presenters Luthando Shosha and Kim Jayde Robinson. In their commercial, she danced to promote their "Dance Proof" makeup.
Bontle has also worked with the company Always. In May 2023, she led a dance session and gave a talk at Thutolore Secondary School in Meadowlands, Soweto. She encouraged girls to stay in school, even with challenges like period poverty. During this event, 100 girls received a six-month supply of sanitary pads.

Bontle Modiselle is married to rapper Ricardo Moloi, who is known as Priddy Ugly. They met in 2009. On August 19, 2019, they announced on social media that they were expecting their first child. They got married on September 28, 2019, in a traditional African wedding.
Bontle and Priddy Ugly have a daughter named Afrika Bonita Lerato Moloi.
