Bontle Modiselle-Moloi, born on October 7, 1990, is a talented South African star. She is an actress, TV host, radio personality, dancer, choreographer, singer, and model. In 2015, she starred in the dance movie Hear Me Move. This role earned her a nomination for the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.

Early Life and Family

Bontle Jade-Lee Modiselle was born in Soweto, Johannesburg, South Africa. She grew up mostly in the north-eastern part of Johannesburg. Her parents are Percy and Grace Modiselle. Bontle is from the Tswana ethnic group.

She has two sisters, Refilwe Modiselle and Candice Modiselle. Both of her sisters also work in the entertainment world. Bontle's father passed away when she was young, which was a difficult time for her. She studied at the University of Johannesburg. There, she earned a degree in Corporate Communications.

Starting a Career in Dance

Bontle began her dancing journey in 2007. She took many dance classes and joined different dance activities. She first appeared in the entertainment industry as a model in music videos. She also danced in these videos sometimes.

Bontle has appeared in music videos for famous artists. These include DJ Tira, Rouge, and Major League DJz. Her dancing skills helped her get into acting.

Acting on Screen

Bontle made her first movie appearance in the dance-drama film Hear Me Move in 2014. She played a character named Khanyi. After that, she starred in the first season of the SABC 3 drama series Thula's Vine, where she played Lindi. She also appeared in the Mzansi Magic short film Lokshin FM as Meme.

Hosting TV Shows

On February 6, 2016, Bontle started hosting TV shows. She co-hosted the SABC 2 reality show Showville with actor Rob van Vuuren. The next month, she presented an award at the 2016 South African Film and Television Awards with her sisters.

In June 2017, Bontle became the new presenter for the e.tv music show Club 808. She joined Lawrence Maleka on the show. Club 808 aired its last episode on March 30, 2018. Bontle continued her hosting work on the SABC 1 rap-battle show One Mic. The second season of One Mic started on February 7, 2019.

On July 31, 2021, Bontle co-hosted the 27th South African Music Awards ceremony. She hosted it alongside Lawrence Maleka. On November 5, 2021, she also started hosting Telkom Monate Vibes, a music show on SABC 1.

Choreography and Performances

Before becoming a dancer, Bontle worked as a choreographer for many events. She was the main choreographer for the African version of the MTV show Lip Sync Battle, which started in 2016. She also helped choreograph the MTV Africa Music Awards 2016.

In June 2019, Bontle was the head choreographer for the Castle Lite Unlocks event. This event featured the famous artist Meek Mill. As a dancer, she has performed at various events. These include sports events like the Basketball National League and The MultiChoice Diski Challenge.

Brand Partnerships

In March 2018, Bontle was announced as a new face for Revlon South Africa. She joined actress Michelle Mosalakae and TV presenters Luthando Shosha and Kim Jayde Robinson. In their commercial, she danced to promote their "Dance Proof" ColourStay makeup.

Bontle has also worked with the company Always. In May 2023, she led a dance session and gave a talk at Thutolore Secondary School in Meadowlands, Soweto. She encouraged girls to stay in school. She also helped 100 girls receive a six-month supply of sanitary pads.

Personal Life

Bontle Modiselle is married to rapper Ricardo Moloi, who is known as Priddy Ugly. They first met in 2009. On August 19, 2019, they announced they were expecting their first child. They shared the news on social media. They got married on September 28, 2019, in a traditional African wedding.

Bontle and Priddy Ugly have a daughter. Her name is Afrika Bonita Lerato Moloi.
