Booneville is a small place in Lincoln County, Tennessee, in the United States. It's called an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government.
History of Booneville
Booneville has an interesting past. A post office was opened there in 1869. This was a place where people could send and receive letters and packages. The post office stayed open for many years. However, it closed down in 1905.
The community was named after a famous pioneer. His name was Daniel Boone. He was an explorer and frontiersman. He helped settle many parts of the American frontier.
