Boonie Bears: To the Rescue facts for kids
Boonie Bears to the Rescue (Chinese: 熊出没之夺宝熊兵) is an exciting Chinese animated comedy adventure movie for families. It came out in 2014 and is based on the popular TV show Boonie Bears. This film was so popular that a second movie, Boonie Bears: Mystical Winter, was released the next year in 2015.
The Story Begins
The adventure starts on a stormy night when two boxes get mixed up by mistake during a car accident. Logger Vick finds a mysterious suitcase. Because of this box, the peaceful forest changes a lot, and the lives of the Bear Brothers, Briar and Bramble, become very exciting.
Suddenly, a little girl appears! Vick and the Bear Brothers become like super dads, taking care of her. They have to work together to protect her from bad guys and help her get back home safely. This unexpected journey also helps them uncover big secrets. They will find out who is behind all the trouble.
Movie's Success
Boonie Bears to the Rescue was a huge hit in China! Just three days after it was released, it earned about 103 million RMB (which is about US$17 million). This was the best opening weekend for any Chinese animated movie ever. It also had the third-best opening day for any animated film in China.
After more than a week, the movie had earned about CN¥183 million (US$30.3 million). It became the highest-earning Chinese animated film in the country. It broke the record that was previously held by Mission Incredible: Adventures on the Dragon's Trail.
English Voices
Many talented actors lent their voices to the English version of the film:
- Rick Jay Glen voiced Briar, Ted Marshall Jr., Ted Marshall Sr., Arnold, Babu, Vick's Father, and other characters.
- Justin J. Wheeler voiced Bramble, the Policeman, and other characters.
- Paul "Maxx" Rinehart was the voice of Logger Vick, Tiki, and Mr. Lee.
- Toni Thompson voiced Maurice, Vick's Mom, and other characters.
- Siobhan Lumsden also provided additional voices.
