History of Bowie
Bowie got its name from a person named Alexander Bowie. He owned a mine in the area, and the community was named after him.
A post office was opened in Bowie in 1907. This was an important place for people to send and receive mail. The post office served the community for many years, but it eventually closed down in 1967.
