A Look at Bowler's Past
Bowler began in the late 1890s as a farming community. It was quite isolated, meaning it was far away from other towns. The community was nestled in a valley, right at the foot of the Pryor Mountains.
For many years, Bowler had a post office. It helped people send and receive letters from 1894 until 1936. There was also a place where people could gather, and a cemetery was located just outside the main area. Today, only a few old buildings and their foundations remain. You can find these scattered away from Pryor Mountain Road.
