Brackentown, Tennessee facts for kids
Brackentown is a small place, sometimes called an unincorporated community, located in Sumner County, Tennessee, in the United States. An unincorporated community means it's a group of homes or buildings that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government. It's part of a larger county.
History of Brackentown
Brackentown once had its own post office. It opened in 1877, which was a long time ago! This post office helped people send and receive mail until it closed down in 1908. The name 'Brackentown' probably came from a local family called Bracken. Records from the mid-1800s show that the Bracken family lived in the area.
