Branchville is a small, unincorporated community. It is located in Milam County, Texas, in the United States. In the year 2000, about 200 people lived there.

Branchville's History
The name "Branchville" might have come from a store owner named W. B. Easterwood. He had a main store in Port Sullivan and opened a "branch" location nearby.
A post office for the community opened in 1878. By 1884, about 20 people lived in Branchville. This number grew to 85 residents by 1896. At that time, the village had two general stores and a Baptist church.
Even though the post office closed in 1908, Branchville continued to grow. In the 1940s, about 100 people lived there. The community also had four churches and several businesses. The population remained around 200 people in both 1990 and 2000.
Where is Branchville?
Branchville is found in eastern Milam County, Texas. It is located on Farm to Market Road 485. This road is about 13 miles (21 km) east of Cameron.
Learning in Branchville
Branchville had its own school as early as 1896. By 1903, there were several schools in the community. One school had a single teacher and 30 students. There were also two other schools, each with one teacher, for 133 students.
In the 1940s, Branchville had two schools. Later, in the early 1970s, these schools joined the Cameron Independent School District. This district helps manage schools in the area.

- Arthur Bryant was a famous person from Branchville. He was known for his amazing Kansas City barbecue. He ran a very popular restaurant called Arthur Bryant's. He is buried in Branchville.
