Early Life and Training
Brandi grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. She attended a special school there called the School for Creative and Performing Arts. This school helped her develop her talents in acting and singing. It prepared her for a career on the stage.
Broadway Star
Brandi made her very first appearance on Broadway in 1997. Her debut was in the musical Jekyll and Hyde. She was part of the show's ensemble. She also served as an understudy for the character Lucy. An understudy is an actor who learns a main role. They are ready to perform if the regular actor cannot.
After that, Brandi performed in other famous Broadway shows. She was in Caroline, or Change, where she played "The Radio." She also joined the cast of Wicked. In Wicked, she was an ensemble member. She also understudied the lead role of Elphaba.
Beyond Broadway
Brandi's talent isn't just limited to Broadway. From 2002 to 2003, she performed in London. She played the lioness Nala in The Lion King musical.

In 2007, Brandi took on more exciting roles. From February to March, she starred as Mary Magdalene. This was in the musical Jesus Christ Superstar. The show took place at the North Carolina Theatre in Raleigh, NC.
Later that year, in July, Brandi played Lorell. This was in the Atlanta production of Dreamgirls. The show was held at The Fox Theatre. She performed alongside Jennifer Holliday. Jennifer Holliday was part of the original Broadway cast of Dreamgirls.
