Becoming a Musician

Brandon Patrick George finished high school at the Stivers School for the Arts in Dayton, Ohio, in 2004. He then went to the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. There, he studied with a famous flutist named Michel Debost. Brandon graduated from Oberlin in 2008.

After that, he continued his studies in Paris with Sophie Cherrier. He earned his Master of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music in 2010.

Playing with Imani Winds

In 2018, Brandon became the flutist for Imani Winds. He took over from the group's founder, Valerie Coleman. Since joining, he has traveled all over the world performing with them.

Imani Winds has been nominated for three Grammy Awards. In 2024, they won a GRAMMY Award for Best Classical Compendium. This award was for their live album called Passion For Bach And Coltrane.
