Warren W. Brandt Hall is a tall, 17-story building at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Richmond, Virginia. It's a special kind of building called a dormitory, which is where college students live while they study. This hall is located right on the edge of VCU's Monroe Park campus.
Brandt Hall is next to another building called Rhoads Hall. It provides homes for about 640 first-year students, often called freshmen, who are just starting college. The building officially opened its doors on August 24, 2005. It was the newest student housing on campus for a while, until another building, Gladding Residence Center, was built.
Who Was Warren W. Brandt?
Warren W. Brandt Hall is named after an important person in VCU's history. Warren W. Brandt was the very first president of Virginia Commonwealth University. He helped shape the university into what it is today. Naming the building after him honors his contributions to the school.
