Brasiliense plays in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série D, which is the fourth level of Brazilian football. They also compete in the Campeonato Brasiliense, the top football league in their home region, the Federal District.

This club has won many important titles. They have won eleven state titles, one Serie B title, and one Serie C title.

Club History and Achievements

How Brasiliense Started and Grew

Brasiliense Futebol Clube was founded on August 1, 2000. A person named Luís Estêvão helped create the club. Even though it's a relatively new club, Brasiliense has made some amazing records in Brazilian football.

Early Success and National Finals

In 2002, Brasiliense became the youngest team to reach the final of the Copa do Brasil. This was their very first time playing in this big national cup! They beat strong teams like Náutico, Fluminense, and Atlético Mineiro. They ended up as runners-up, losing to Corinthians in the final.

Also in 2002, the club won its first national title. They became champions of the Brazilian third division.

Climbing to the Top League

Just two years later, in 2004, Brasiliense achieved their biggest victory so far. They won the Brazilian second division. This win meant they were promoted to the Serie A, which is the highest level of football in Brazil!

However, in 2005, Brasiliense finished last in the Serie A and went back down to Serie B in 2006. In 2005, they also reached the semi-finals of the Copa do Brasil again, but lost to Fluminense.

Club Symbols and Identity

Colors, Mascot, and Flag

The official colors of Brasiliense Futebol Clube are green, yellow, and white. These colors are chosen because they are also the colors of the flag of the Federal District.

The club's official mascot is the Alligator, which is a strong and fierce animal. The club's flag has three yellow bands and two white bands, with the team's official shield placed on top.

Uniform and Anthem

The club's anthem was written by Walter Queiroz. The first uniform for the team always included yellow shirts, shorts, and socks. In 2008, a cross symbol was added to the uniform, also as a reference to the flag of the Federal District.

Club Rivalries

Major Opponents

Brasiliense has two main rivals: Gama and Brasília. Their biggest rival is Gama. Both Brasiliense and Gama are from the Federal District and have won important national titles, like the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B.

The Verde-Amarelo Derby

The matches between Brasiliense and Gama are called the Verde-Amarelo (Green-Yellow) derby. This name comes from the colors of the teams. These games are very popular and usually bring in a lot of fans.

The fans of these clubs are often called candangos. This is a general term used for the construction workers who helped build the city of Brasília.

Home Stadiums

Serejão Stadium

Brasiliense's main stadium is called Elmo Serejo Farias, but it's usually known as Serejão. This stadium can hold 27,000 people. It is named after Elmo Serejo Farias, who was an important leader in Taguatinga and the Federal District when the stadium was built.

Other Playing Venues

The team also sometimes plays at the Estádio Nacional Mané Garrincha, another large stadium in the region.
