Brian M. Lewis (born December 5, 1974) is an American athlete. He is best known for winning a gold medal. This happened in the 4 × 100 meter relay at the 2000 Summer Olympics.

Early Life and Sports
Brian was born in Sacramento, California. When he was a kid, he played baseball. His father and uncle were both professional baseball players. But Brian decided to try something different. In ninth grade, he switched to athletics, also known as track and field. He graduated from Highlands High School in 1993.
Becoming a Champion Sprinter
Brian Lewis became a strong sprinter. He was part of the American 4 × 100 meter relay team. This team competed at the 1997 World Championships. However, they did not finish their race that time.
In 1998, Brian showed his talent at the Goodwill Games. He finished third in the 100 meter race. This was a great achievement for him.
Winning Gold at World Championships
The year 1999 was very successful for Brian. He won the US National Championships in the 100 meter dash. This meant he was the fastest 100 meter runner in the United States.
Later that year, he joined the American 4 × 100 meter relay team again. They competed at the World Championships. Brian ran the third part of the relay race. His team won the gold medal! He also reached the semifinals in the 100 meter race at this event.
Olympic Glory
Brian Lewis's biggest moment came at the Sydney Olympics in 2000. He was once again part of the American 4 × 100 meter relay team. He ran the third leg of the race. His team performed amazingly well. They won the gold medal for the United States! This was a huge victory for Brian and his teammates.
