Brian R. Murray is an important Irish judge and lawyer. He has been a Judge of the Supreme Court since February 2022. This is the highest court in Ireland.
Before that, he was a Judge of the Court of Appeal from 2019 to 2022. He also worked as a barrister, which is a type of lawyer. He focused on public and business law.

Early Life and Education
Brian Murray studied at Trinity College Dublin. He earned a BA degree there. Later, he completed a special law degree (LLM) at the University of Cambridge.
In 1984, he won the Irish Times Debate. This showed his strong debating skills. After his studies, he went to King's Inns. This is where lawyers in Ireland train. He became a lawyer in 1989. In 2002, he became a senior counsel. This means he was a very experienced lawyer.
His Work as a Lawyer
Brian Murray worked on important legal cases. He specialized in constitutional law and commercial law. Constitutional law deals with the rules for how the government works. Commercial law deals with business and trade rules.
He often represented the Irish government in court. For example, he worked on cases involving data protection. He also represented Ireland in two important European Union courts. These are the General Court and the Court of Justice.
Besides his court work, he also taught law. He taught jurisprudence (the theory of law) at Trinity College Dublin. He also lectured on Company Law there. He shared his knowledge with students at the King's Inns too.
