Bridge Creek, Missouri facts for kids
Bridge Creek is a small, quiet place in the northeastern part of Carroll County, in the state of Missouri in the United States. It's called an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government.
Where is Bridge Creek?
This community sits on Missouri Route YY. It's located right above the east bank of a stream also named Bridge Creek. A railroad track, once used by the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad, runs through the valley near the community.
How Bridge Creek Got Its Name
Bridge Creek had a post office a long time ago. It opened in 1870 and stayed open until 1884. The community got its name from the nearby stream, Bridge Creek. The stream itself was named because a railroad bridge crossed over it.
