The Bridge in Athens Township was an old bridge that crossed the Susquehanna River in Bradford County, Pennsylvania. It connected Athens Township and Athens, Pennsylvania. This bridge was special because of its design, called a Pennsylvania (petit) truss.
Workers built the bridge between 1913 and 1916. It was about 540 feet (165 meters) long. The bridge had two main parts, called spans. The Penn Bridge Co. built one span, which was 253 feet (77 meters) long. The Bethlehem Steel Bridge Co. built the other span, which was 287 feet (87 meters) long.
The bridge was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. This list helps protect important historical places. However, a new bridge replaced it in 2005. Because it was no longer there, the old bridge was removed from the National Register in 2012.
