Bridgeport, Missouri facts for kids
Bridgeport is a small, unincorporated community located in Warren County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. An unincorporated community means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Instead, it's governed by the county.
History of Bridgeport
The area where Bridgeport is located was first settled a very long time ago, even before the year 1810. This means people were living and building homes there over 200 years ago! For a while, Bridgeport even had its own post office, which was important for sending and receiving mail before modern communication. However, the Bridgeport post office eventually closed its doors in 1893.
