Bright Angel Creek is a beautiful stream located deep inside the Grand Canyon National Park in the United States. It flows into the mighty Colorado River. This creek is a famous landmark for hikers exploring the canyon. You can find it at the end of the North Kaibab Trail on the north side of the river.

Where Bright Angel Creek Starts

Bright Angel Creek begins at a place called Roaring Springs. These springs are amazing! They emerge right from a cliff along the North Kaibab Trail. The water then flows downhill, joining the Colorado River. The North Kaibab Trail often follows the creek's path.

Hiking Along the Creek

One part of the trail is called "the Box." It's a narrow area with very high walls. This section can get extremely hot during the summer months. This is especially true from April to October. Hikers need to be careful and stay hydrated in this area.

Bright Angel Creek eventually flows into the Colorado River. This meeting point is called a confluence. The water here flows through old, eroded canyons. These canyons are made of very old rocks. These rocks are part of the Vishnu Basement Rocks, also known as Vishnu Schist. They are some of the oldest rocks in the Grand Canyon.
