Brighton Zeuner is an amazing American professional skateboarder. She was born on July 14, 2004. Brighton is known for her incredible skills and for making history in the sport.

She lives in Newport Beach. Brighton has won two gold medals at the X Games in skateboard park. Her first win in 2017 made her the youngest X Games champion ever. She was just 13 years old and one day! She also became the youngest female X Games competitor in 2016, at only eleven years old.

Brighton is a regular at the Vans Park Series events. She has won two Vans Park World Championships. She often wins competitions with her high-flying tricks and strong moves over obstacles. At the 2018 X Games, she already had the top score. But she pushed herself even further to secure her gold medal.

Brighton was part of the first U.S.A Skateboarding National Team. This team was announced in March 2019. She competed in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games in the Women's Park division. This was her first competition without her dad there. She finished 12th overall in the event.

Brighton's Early Life

Brighton Zeuner was born in Scottsdale, Arizona. Her dad and her brother, Jackson, helped her get into skateboarding. Her dad started skateboarding again because Jackson loved it so much. Brighton would practice on her brother's skateboards. Soon, she got her very own board.

Moving to California

The family spent summers in San Diego County. They later moved to Encinitas full-time. Brighton and Jackson wanted a big ramp in their backyard. Their parents, with help from pro skaters PLG and Jeff Grosso, built an 80s-style vert ramp.

Brighton used this ramp for three years. It helped her improve very quickly. She was only nine years old then. She soon became as good as many of the boys. She started to really enjoy competing.

Balancing School and Skating

Brighton goes to a special school that helps her balance schoolwork with competitions. The teachers understand when she needs to travel for events. They help her catch up before she leaves. This way, she doesn't have to do schoolwork while competing.

Brighton's Amazing Career

In 2015, Brighton and her brother joined a show called "Camp Woodward." Their episodes got over a million views each! In 2016, she started competing professionally. She was invited to big events like Van's Pool Party and the Vans US Open.

Becoming a World Champion

Brighton ended the 2016 season by winning the first Vans Park Series Championships. This event was held in Malmo, Sweden. In August of that year, she became the first Vans Park Series World Champion. She also made history as the youngest female athlete to compete at the X Games at age 11.

In 2017, she became the youngest gold medalist ever at X Games Minneapolis. She won the Women's Skateboard Park event. This happened the day after her 13th birthday. This amazing achievement earned her a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records.

In 2018, she won her second Vans Park Series World Championship. This competition took place in Suzhou, China.

X Games and Olympic Dreams

Also in 2018, Brighton became the youngest person to win back-to-back gold medals. She won again at X Games Minneapolis 2018. She was nominated for an ESPN ESPY award for Best Female Action Sports Athlete. However, the award went to Chloe Kim, an Olympic gold medalist.

Skateboarding was a new sport at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Brighton was seen as a possible gold medalist for Team USA. In the Women's park competition, she reached 12th place.
