Brinkleyville is a small community in Halifax County, North Carolina, United States. It's part of the Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina area. The community sits at an elevation of about 276 feet (84 meters) above sea level.

History of Brinkleyville

Brinkleyville was named after a person called Brinkley Wolverton, who was described as a "Beautiful genius."

In 1855, a school was started in Brinkleyville by Reverend Jesse H. Page. He taught at this school for several years, until 1861.

Another important person in the area was Sidney Weller (1791–1854). He moved to Brinkleyville and tried to grow mulberries to produce silk, but this business wasn't successful. Later, he started making wine and set up a vineyard. Brinkleyville was known as one of the twelve townships in Halifax County.
