Brookby is a small, quiet place in the countryside, located south of Auckland, New Zealand. It's about 5 kilometers west of Clevedon and 5 kilometers southeast of Whitford.
The name 'Brookby' comes from a nearby stream, called Papakura Stream. The first post office was built close to this stream, so the area was named "by the brook," or Brookby.
