Brownsville-Bawcomville was a special kind of community in Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, United States. It was known as a "census-designated place" (CDP). This means it was an area identified by the U.S. Census Bureau for statistical purposes. However, it was not an officially incorporated city or town with its own local government.
In the year 2000, about 7,616 people lived in Brownsville-Bawcomville. This community was also part of the larger Monroe Metropolitan Statistical Area. For the 2010 census, the U.S. Census Bureau decided to split Brownsville-Bawcomville into two separate communities. These new communities are now known as Brownsville and Bawcomville.
