Buhl Farm Golf Course, once known as Buhland Golf Course, is a very special place in Sharon, Pennsylvania. It's currently the only golf course in the entire United States where you can play for free! This means anyone can enjoy a game of golf without paying a fee.
This 9-hole course is usually open from mid-April until November. You can play from about 8 a.m. until sundown, but it's always a good idea to call ahead to check the exact closing times. The course is known for its flat putting areas, called greens, and its tall grass, known as rough. It also has a simple layout with wide, straight paths called fairways, making it easy for players.
The course features one special tee box made of artificial turf and eight other natural grass tee boxes. Besides the main golf course, there's also a driving range where you can practice your swings. It even has a "First Tee" center, which is a program that teaches kids about golf and important life skills. People who live nearby sometimes call this free course "Dum Dum"!
The Buhl Farm Trust manages the course, and it stays free thanks to generous donations from the public. They also offer a fun golf program for children during the summer months.
