What is "Bunks" About?

Bunks is a fun and spooky movie about two brothers who end up at a strange summer camp. They discover a mysterious book that makes scary stories come true! Get ready for laughs, scares, and a lot of zombie action.

The Mystery of Camp Whispering Lake

The story starts in 1976 at Camp Whispering Lake. A young camper is looking for his friends. He gets scared and runs into the woods. He finds an old, spooky cabin and tries to hide. Later, the police arrive, but all the campers are gone. They have disappeared without a trace.

Brothers at Camp Bushwhack

Now, in 2013, we meet brothers Dylan and Dane. They are in trouble for causing an accident at home. Their parents decide to send them to a military camp. But the brothers have other plans! They trick two camp counselors and go to Camp Bushwhack instead. They pretend to be Sanjay and Delroy.

A Strange Discovery

When they arrive, Dylan and Dane are in charge of a cabin full of quirky campers. Dane quickly starts a rivalry with another counselor named Brogan. To get back at Brogan, the brothers and their new friends hide Brogan's special trophy. They put it in an old cabin. In the cabin, they find a creepy backpack with a book of scary stories. They don't know it, but this is the same cabin from 1976.

Stories Come to Life

At a campfire, the brothers decide to read from the mysterious book. They find a story about Anson Miner, a counselor from Camp Whispering Lake. In the story, Anson drowns. His friends try to save him by taking him to an animal doctor. The doctor brings Anson back to life, but he returns as a brain-eating zombie! Anson infects everyone, but they are all cured, except for Anson himself.

The next day, strange things start happening. A girl Dylan likes, Lauren, grows a mustache, just like in one of the stories! Dylan also sees Anson in the woods.

The Camp's Dark Secret

Dylan talks to Crawl, the camp manager. Crawl tells him about the camp's strict rule against scary stories. He explains that something strange happened when the camp was called Camp Whispering Lake. All the campers vanished. Crawl believes the book might be responsible. Dylan tries to warn everyone, but no one listens.

Later, on a hike, Dane also doesn't believe Dylan. But then Anson attacks them! Now Dane believes him too.

Finding a Cure

Dane, Dylan, and their cabin mates realize the scary stories are coming true. They try to hide from Anson at the animal hospital. They even put a special collar on Anson. It doesn't make him human again, but it helps him act like his old self. Dylan decides to keep Anson at the hospital to protect the other campers.

Meanwhile, Brogan comes to the hospital looking for his trophy. He finds Anson and accidentally breaks the remote for Anson's collar. Anson quickly turns back into a zombie!

The Zombie Battle

When the brothers and campers return to camp, Anson attacks them again. Brogan, who was bitten by Anson, also becomes a zombie! The boys fight off the zombies. Dylan goes to find any remaining campers. Dane reveals he got scratched during the fight.

Dylan and Dane send two campers, Genius Bar and Grinsberg, back to the hospital. They need to find the antidote. They succeed! The real Sanjay and Delroy, who escaped military camp, also join them.

A Happy Ending?

Using the antidote Genius Bar made, the brothers cure all the zombie campers. Dane turns into a zombie for a moment but is quickly cured too. Everyone celebrates with a Hawaiian party! The brothers burn the scary book.

However, they don't know that one of the counselors, Alice, accidentally read all the stories aloud. This includes a story about a shark in the lake. This might mean new dangers for the campers in the future!
