David James Parker (born October 26, 1962), known as Busy Bee, is an American old-school hip hop musician. He comes from New York, NY. Busy Bee started in the New York City music scene in 1977. He worked with many early hip-hop stars. These include Melle Mel, Afrika Bambaataa, and Kool DJ AJ.

Early Career and Rap Battles
Busy Bee is famous for his funny rhymes. He first became popular through MC rap battles. These were contests where rappers showed off their skills. He battled in places like Staten Island, Brooklyn, and New Jersey.
In December 1981, he had a famous rap battle with Kool Moe Dee. This happened at Harlem World in Manhattan, NY. It was one of the first recorded rap battles. In 1985, Busy Bee won a big award. It was called the New Music Seminar's MC World Supremacy Belt. This showed he was a top rapper.
In the early 1980s, Afrika Bambaataa asked Busy Bee to join his Universal Zulu Nation. This group used hip hop to promote peace and unity. Busy Bee would DJ at their parties. He still performs today. In 2007, he appeared on the album Hip Hop Lives. This album was made by KRS-One and Marley Marl.
On Screen and Beyond
Busy Bee was in the 1983 movie Wild Style. This film is known as the first hip-hop movie. It was directed by Charlie Ahearn. Later, he played himself in the 2002 movie Paid in Full. In 2007, he was part of a video documentary. It was called Hip Hop Legends.
