Club Deportivo Cuautla is a Mexican football club. It is based in Cuautla, Mexico. Their home games are played at Estadio Isidro Gil Tapia. The team plays in the Liga Premier, which is a professional football league in Mexico. Specifically, they compete in the Serie B division.

Club History
The Cuautla football club started in 1952. They joined the Segunda División Profesional, which was the second-highest football league in Mexico at the time.
Reaching the Top League
In the 1953-54 season, Cuautla finished as the runner-up in their league. This was a great achievement for the team. Because more clubs were joining the top league, the Mexican football federation decided to hold special playoff games.
Cuautla played against two other teams from the Second Division. They also played against two teams from the First Division that were at the bottom of the standings. Cuautla played very well in these playoffs. They earned a spot in the Primera División de México, which is Mexico's top football league!
Time in the First Division
Cuautla played in the First Division for four years. This was a big deal for the club and its fans. However, in the 1958-59 season, they were moved back down to the Second Division.
Almost Back to the Top
The club came close to returning to the First Division two more times. First, in the 1971–72 season, and again in 1978–79. Both times, they played in important promotion matches but lost to Atlas.
