CC's (pronounced sea-seas) are popular tortilla chips from Australia. They are also called "corn chips" because they are made from corn. These tasty chips have been around since the early 1980s.

At first, The Smith's Snackfood Company made CC's. Now, another company called Snack Brands Australia makes them. You can mostly find CC's in Australia. They come in many different flavours. CC's were also sold in New Zealand for a while. They even came back for a short time in 2019 and will return again in 2023. All CC's chips are made right in Australia.

The chips are made from ground corn. They also have vegetable oil and special seasonings for flavour. Some of the main ingredients include corn, sunflower oil, and cheese powder. They also contain spices like cumin and natural flavours.

Flavours of CC's

CC's has four main flavours that you can usually find. These are Original, Tasty Cheese, Tangy Salsa, and Nacho Cheese. Sometimes, they release special flavours for a limited time. For example, they have offered a Tangy BBQ flavour. In 2021, they even had a "Three Cheese Fiesta" flavour.

Promoting CC's

CC's has used the same catchy phrase, "You can't say no," since the 1980s. One of their most famous advertising campaigns featured The Simpsons. This happened in 1998. Since Snack Brands Australia took over, CC's ads also highlight that the chips are 100% Australian owned and made.

CC's Dare #14: Escaping a water tank

In June 1998, The Simpsons characters appeared in CC's TV commercials. In these ads, Homer Simpson always wanted Bart Simpson's CC's chips. Bart would make Homer do a silly dare to get them. But Homer never managed to get the chips from Bart. Each commercial ended with a funny twist on the "You can't say no" phrase. The voice actor Dan Castellaneta would say "CC's, you can't say..." Then Homer would shout "D'oh!".

These ads were similar to the Butterfinger candy bar commercials in the United States. Even though these CC's commercials only played in Australia, you can find them on Season 10 DVD.

Dare number What Homer had to do
2 Homer had to run through the Power Plant. He tripped on a power cord and caused a blackout in the whole town.
9 Homer skydived from a plane to catch the chips. He landed in a trampoline factory and bounced back to the plane. Homer grabbed Bart's chips on the way up, but Bart opened Homer's parachute. This sent Homer flying backward.
14 Homer had to escape from a water tank. He was wearing a straitjacket and was chained up.
23 Homer had to jump off a cliff into the ocean. When he came out of the water, he saw his swimming trunks had fallen off!
38 Bart did a magic trick and cut Homer into three pieces. Homer couldn't eat the chips while he was separated.
65 Homer had to walk across burning coals. But Bart had not even lit them yet!

CC's in New Zealand

In Aotearoa (which is the Māori name for New Zealand), CC's used a different advertising phrase. Their tagline was "Only CC's is tasting like these."
