CITV: A Channel for Kids

CITV stands for Children's ITV. It's a part of the bigger ITV network, which is one of the main TV companies in the UK. CITV has been a popular place for kids to watch their favourite shows for many years.

How CITV Reached Homes

When CITV first started, it was mainly a block of children's programmes shown on the main ITV channel. Over time, it grew and became its own dedicated channel. This meant kids could watch children's shows all day long!

In May 2006, CITV became available on Freeview, which is a free digital TV service. This made it much easier for more families to watch the channel without needing a paid subscription. It also launched on other popular services like Sky and NTL, making sure lots of kids across the UK could tune in.
