CPC Politburo Standing Committee facts for kids
The Politburo Standing Committee is a very important group in China. It's like the main leadership team for the Communist Party of China (CPC). This group makes the biggest decisions for the party, and since the CPC is the ruling party in China, they also lead the whole country.
This committee usually has between five and nine members. In 2018, there were seven members. These members are chosen by a larger group called the CPC Central Committee.

How are Members Chosen?
Members of the Politburo Standing Committee are chosen from within the Communist Party. For example, Xi Jinping and Li Keqiang were chosen in 2007. They became leaders after Hu Jintao and Wen Jiabao. The other five members listed above were chosen more recently, in 2017.
This group meets regularly to discuss important issues and make decisions that affect everyone in China.
