Cañuelas is a town in Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. It is the main town for the Cañuelas Partido, which is like a local government area. The town is located close to the edge of Greater Buenos Aires, a very large city area.
A Sweet Invention
Cañuelas is famous for a sweet treat called dulce de leche. Many people believe this delicious caramel-like spread was invented right here! The story says it happened by accident at a dairy farm called Estancia La Caledonia on June 24, 1829.
This area was also home to the very first dairy factory in Argentina. It was called La Martona. This shows how important dairy farming has been to Cañuelas.
